I attended Goodpasture Christian High School and received my Bachelor's of Science degree in 2000 from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.  Part of my tuition was funded through community service work with Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, St. Jude's Children Hospital and the First Presbyterian Soup Kitchen.  I then attended Vanderbilt University and received a Master's of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Women's Health.

I moved to Knoxville in 2002 and married my husband Doug who I had met during grad school.  I worked at Methodist Medical Center in the labor and delivery unit and was an "on-call" nurse attending births at the Lisa Ross Birth and Women's Center.  I really enjoyed the care and attention the midwifery team showed for their patients and the nurses, so when a full-time nurse practitioner position opened in May 2003, and I was offered the job, my answer was "Of course!"

Now as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, I'm doing well-woman gynecology, family planning, prenatal visits and colposcopy exams.  I'm also on call for deliveries, so I may be the attending nurse at your baby's birth!  I'm so happy to be working at the Center because it is a comfortable working atmosphere and I feel like it is an environment where the practice philosophy matches closely with my personal and professional medical beliefs.

I'm glad to be here and look forward to many years at LRBWC.  When the day comes for me to start my own family, I'm looking forward to having my own babies here at the birth center.
