Your first prenatal visit will last about 1 hour. During this visit you will meet with the CNM to discuss your health and pregnancy history and to ask any questions that you may have regarding your prenatal care or pregnancy concerns. Future visits generally last about 30 minutes long, and will provide you plenty of time to get to know the midwives and to ask any questions that you may have, as well as benefiting from the teaching the midwives offer.

Throughout pregnancy, we educate and encourage you on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Topics include:
• diet and exercise
• fetal growth and development
• avoidance of toxic substances
• normal fetal movement
• preparation for childbirth.

In the course of your prenatal care, we continually monitor your condition for any complications that may arise. If needed, our consulting physicians may co-manage your prenatal care or you may be transferred to a Physician’s care should your pregnancy become high risk.
