We, the Lisa Ross Birth and Women's Center,
are a not-for-profit corporation providing a unique system of
women's health care to promote wellness, personal empowerment,
and family involvement in the birth process as well as other
women's health outcomes. We embody the Birth Center
concept, designed to provide access to superior quality, highly
personalized, and lower cost care.
It is our mission to expand our practice,
in conjunction with other community organizations to:
Close the gap in health disparity for women
who are vulnerable to poor health outcomes,
Provide a safe environment for excellent
outcomes for women, mothers and babies.
We also believe that:
Childbearing
is a normal healthy event rarely requiring medical
intervention.
The
woman has opportunities and responsibilities in decision making
regarding her care.
A
Woman's family and friends are an integral part of her care.
Education
is the basis of responsible decision making.
Adequate
time with the health care provider is essential to meeting
individual client needs.
Fostering
the growth of midwifery can best be realized by providing a
site for clinical education.
All
women deserve equal treatment, regardless of ethnic, racial, or
cultural differences, education, or socioeconomic status.
