37921 Initiative
The Lisa Ross Birth and Women's Center
began it’s 37921 Outreach Project in 2003 in response to
a Vanderbilt University Study that found that the 37921 zip
code had the highest rates of late entry into prenatal care in
Knox County.
We formed the Communities for Healthy
Babies: 37921 Initiative to help identify and address barriers
to prenatal care.
CHB member volunteers conduct community
outreach events including the twice annual 37921 Community Baby
Shower as well as workshops including Childbirth Preparation,
Infant Parenting, and Prenatal Classes.
