Due
Date Calculators
Why have more than one pregnancy calculator listed here?
A due date is a due date, right? Well, yes, though even the experts can
and will vary by a few days. More importantly, these sites will generate
calendars with helpful reminders, suitable for printout, and some provide
valuable information beyond just an estimated due date or "EDD".
Conception issues and fertility
hCG levels: Human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG, is the main
hormone associated with early pregnancy, and more importantly, the one
that all pregnancy kits check for to give you that magic ++! Many women,
especially those with a history of molar pregnancies or miscarriages, are
monitored carefully during the first weeks of their pregnancies to make
sure things are progressing normally. In addition, hCG levels can hint at
multiple pregnancies.
Trying to Conceive. The best
site I've ever found for those who are trying to get pregnant.
Note: Includes one of the best references to on-line ttc (trying
to conceive) and pg (pregnant) abbreviations I've ever seen. Also has a
very useful listing of the sensitivity level of the various home
pregnancy tests.

Ultrasound--Weighing the Propaganda Against the Facts by Beverley
Lawrence Beech.
The use of ultrasound in antenatal care is big business, and in any big
business marketing is all-important. As a result of decades of
enthusiastic marketing, women believe they can ensure the well being of
their babies by reporting for an early ultrasound scan and that early
detection of a problem is beneficial for these babies. That is not
necessarily so, and a number of studies show that early detection can be
harmful

One caveat--the site has a strong emphasis on home birthing using
midwives, and a very strong anti-hospital, anti-OB slant, which we don't
completely agree with.
